Why You Should Know It: The Flight books are anthology collections showcasing new and established creators and edited by Kazu Kibuishi, the creator of Daisy Kutter and The Amulet. Each volume tends to have a few returning talents, including Kibuishi himself.

It’s tricky to recommend anthologies because of the different styles involved, and I usually only like half of the works on average myself. The Flight volumes though are a great exception and I tend to enjoy the entire volume. This is a good book to push on people interested in trying out new creators, and also fans of all ages reads like Bone.

Personal Review: The entire volume is worth it, but the Excitingly Mundane Life of Kenneth Shuri by JP Ahonen sold the entire thing for me. There is a new Daisy Kutter story, as well as a great Jellaby chapter. The Kidnapped story by Rad Sechrist has beautiful art, and Rodolphe Guenoden’s Dead At Noon has a fantastic narrative flow and tells a great silent story.
