Why You Should Know It:
This series of anthologies reprints short stories originally published on the publishers Myspace page. Most customers that I show this to have never bothered to check the site, so it seems very easy for readers to miss material they would otherwise pick up in a flash. Which is sad because there are a lot of great stories in here including installments for Conan, the BPRD, Criminal Macabre, Rex Mundi, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, and the Umbrella Academy.

The $19.95 price tag is a pretty good deal considering how dense the book is with different types of stories. It's a nice all around sampler and a good way to get people to try out a good selection of different genres.

Personal Review:
Usually I'm 50/50 on anthologies, and while it's worth it to me for even a few great stories I usually am disappointed. That isn't the case with this volume as I pretty much like everything in here except for two or three exceptions. Even then, those few aren't really bad they just didn't do much for me. The Conan and BPRD entries are excellent and great for anyone who collects either of those titles. Arcudi's 'A Going Concern' is nice and disturbing. The Captain Hammer short by Zack Whedon was fun and fairly easy to push on fans of the Dr. Horrible musical. One of the stories that really impressed me was 'Jared' by Ilias Piekos. The story has a great sense of humor with fun art, and considering it had to be so short Piekos paced it perfectly. One of the things I really like about anthologies is you can find out just which creators have a knack for clear storytelling when they are limited to 6-12 pages.
